Love my Clients ----  Keith and Jake "Very Happy Clients"

When my fiance and I began our search for the perfect home in Vermont, we knew very little about the Green Mountain State. Something that we were sure about, was that we were house poor, unhappy and crowded on Long Island! As a Registered Nurse, I was looking for a great hospital or medical practice with opportunities for career growth. As an avid snowboarder and solar energy professional, my fiance was looking for career opportunities in solar energy or a related field, as well as proximity to ski resorts. When we began our research, we placed requests for information, on particular homes, through Real Estate web pages. We narrowed our search area to Rutland. The first phone call we received, from a Real Estate Broker, was discouraging. She was, in a word, rude! She made it clear that she would not be interested in showing us any properties, unless we were pre-approved for a mortgage and/or we could show her proof of funds. About 10 minutes after receiving that phone call, we received a call from Alison McCullough. Alison was a breath of fresh air! After a 10 minute phone conversation, we knew that we had just spoken to the person who would make our transition possible. Alison listened attentively, as I described our housing, career and social needs to her. She offered her services and we accepted. We planned a trip up to Rutland in late October. We emailed Alison our travel dates. She recommended a hotel and cleared her calendar for our entire weekend visit. She stayed in close communication with us until we arrived and re-assured us that we were making the right choice. Upon arriving in Rutland, we were struck by its natural beauty (it literally feels as if you are surrounded by mountains). In addition, Rutland also offers real livability. Downtown Rutland is a mix of old town Main Street and urban sophistication. Small, privately owned businesses and modern shopping centers co-mingle seamlessly.  Rutland and the surrounding areas offer everything from fast food convenience to unique, gourmet dining experiences. While Alison is Rutland's greatest cheerleader, she made it clear that she had only our best interests in mind. Our home shopping experience started with two homes in Rutland. We already had two strong possibilities by the end of day one. Peaceful, clean neighborhoods, with friendly residents and well kept homes made it a very difficult decision. Day two started when we met up with Alison at her office and climbed into her SUV. Alison drove us east, down scenic Rt. 4, passing Pico and Killington Ski Resorts along the way. As we drove down this beautiful main road, along side a winding stream and majestic mountains, Alison became our VT tour guide. She knows everyone and every event in the Rutland area. Not only did Alison help us find our perfect home, but she took us to lunch at a beautiful restaurant and acted as our career counselor. She actually took our resumes and passed them on to her friends who could guide us to the right jobs. The experience was unbelievable!! After touring house number three, we were able to narrow our choice down to two homes. Alison received an urgent phone call during our time on day two. She would have to meet up with another client, briefly. Rather than inconvenience us and interrupt our momentum, Alison drove with us to her appointment, then handed us the keys to her SUV and allowed us to do some independent exploration and privately discuss our choices, in her car! Keep in mind, we had just met one day prior. As promised, we picked Alison up from her meeting and continued our day. We toured the two favorite homes, once again, discussed the pros and cons of each and made our decision by the end of the day. Alison contacted the seller's Realtor and we negotiated an offer and a fair binder for the home. We wrote a check for the amount and were in contract with the sellers by the end of that week. Alison skillfully guided us through all of the nuances of contract addendums and acted as a liaison between us and the sellers, even through our most nerve-racking moments, as we suffered through three long months of selling our NY home. She went above and beyond by meeting our Home Inspector at the house, when we were unable to make the trip up. She kept us calm and positive, when we were discouraged. Alison was our first friend in Vermont, when we knew noone. We have lived in our new home in Rutland, for nearly two months now, and each day we grow more certain that we made the right decision. I now work in the local hospital and my fiance is working in his chosen field, in the booming Solar Energy industry. Our quality of life has improved ten fold, and we are happier than ever!! We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Alison McCullough!! She truly is an ambassador for Vermont and more specifically, Rutland. Little did we know, when we received that first phone call from Alison, that we were about to meet someone so dedicated and capable. To say that Alison is LGBT-friendly is an understatement! She is a positive force and a Realtor for the 21st century!! We would recommend her to anyone visiting the area for the first time!!

Sending a happy couple on to there next phase in life. I'll miss lots Brett & Kristine! Painting of there VT home By: Edith Hiller

When we made the decision to sell our house we interviewed several potential agents and agencies. What was made very clear to us by everyone we spoke to was is this was a very difficult market and it was not going to be easy. What immediately attracted us to working with Alison was her positive and upbeat attitude. While she echoed the sentiments of her peers about the market being difficult, she was able to relate to us as people and not just another listing. Alison made business personal, she took the time to get to know us and understood our situation why we were selling. Her motivation as an agent was not driven only by commission checks and stat sheets, she cared and wanted the best for us. “Because nice matters” is written on her letterhead and business cards, Alison emulated this in every interaction we had with her, it is simple, direct, and completely true. Thank you Alison for everything you did for us.

Best,

Brett and Kristine

Holly and I wanted to express our sincere gratitude to you for the above and beyond job you did for us in finding our new home.  You were wonderfully patient and put up with our doubts, concerns and even bickering at times during the process of finding this house.  Yes, it took you a long while to see what I really wanted in a house and your guidance and never-say-die spirit was critical to the success of our quest.  Mr. & Mrs. James H.
